Events and Activities

Saturday, May 18 at 10:00 a.m. we plan to begin the growing season by planting the many large pots we have around the church and educational building. If the weather is warm that day, we should be able to work on cleaning the winter debris from the gardens, maybe divide some of the plants and get the gardens ready for flower planting.

On Saturday, May 25 at 10:00 a.m. our plan is to plant the annual flowers. If you are able to help us on either or even both of those days we would greatly appreciate it. If you are able to contribute funds for the purchase of plants, soil, mulch, etc. we would be most grateful.

Please see Gayle LeClair, Charlene Barrett or Paul Meteyer. Also, if you have any questions please contact Gayle, Charlene or Paul via the church office. As always thank you in advance for your help.

Families have a choice of tent, camper and/or cabin camping for a weekend in the summer. The date is yet to be set (considering middle of July), as is the campground (between two). However, in order to nail down where the adventure will take place, which regardless will be within 2 hours from the church; we need to see how many families are very interested in taking part. This is to determine how many sites would be needed, type of site and/or how many cabins.  Once we know the numbers and needs, we can determine which campground would accommodate us the best and the rates related to sites and/or cabins.

The early plan of the weekend is:
- arrive on Friday for the weekend with departure on Sunday.
- planned group activity - Saturday, which would be a potluck cookout with an outdoor service led by Minister Enoch.
- activities vary and will be more specific once the campground is decided on, but would include swimming, mini golf, fishing, game room and children craft times.
You will have the option to hang out in groups or just enjoy the outdoors with your individual family.

To make sure we don’t miss reservation windows we need to receive your interest to include your number of campers and whether you would be camping with a tent, camper and/or cabin. Please direct your participation interest to Kelly Barhorst via the church office. The deadline for expressed interest is March 24, 2019. We should have rates and more details the last week of March following deadline. Interested families will be contacted with the details to include rates, dates and campground to finalize their participation prior to reservations being made.

We are holding a fundraiser for MCREST. It is a discount card to various restaurants in New Baltimore and Chesterfield/Macomb. The cards are $10 each and we get $6 for every card sold. They pay for themselves after you use them a couple of times. They also make great stocking stuffers. There are cards available in other areas. If you would like to purchase one or help sell them please contact Nancy Steffens via the church office.

The spaghetti dinner takes place every second Saturday of the month 4:00-7:00 p.m. in our Educational Building.  There is a free-will offering for this meal.

The menu includes spaghetti and one other entrée, bread, salad and dessert.  Everyone is welcome to attend.
